AJ has always been involved in musical activities from an early age which lead to her graduating with a BMus(hons) in vocal studies from the Royal Welsh College of Music Drama. She has been a freelance singing teacher for over 15 years, teaching for various stage schools, music services and individuals from 6 to 80 years old, including those wanting to pursue a career to those learning just for fun. She has worked with many students on their drama college and university auditions, with many going on to successful careers in the industry. She has also been assistant musical director for local youth productions for up to 200 young people.

AJ also teaches woodwind and has played in many pits as a multi-instrumentalist. She has a love of arranging for female voices, having been resident MD and one third of a swing trio for many years. She has also performed in many genres from classical to musical theatre.
